Radu joined BirișGoran in October 2013 and as an associate he focuses on real estate and competition matters. He is a key part of the Real Estate team, having been involved in numerous important real estate transactions (both seller and buyer side), such as: Zeus International’s acquisition of three hotels in Bucharest, InteRo Property’s sale of land to Skanska (advising InteRo Property), Indotek’s acquisition of the Târgu Mureș Promenada mall, the Metropolis sale (advising Soravia) and the acquisition of Construdava (advising AdamAmerica).

As a part of the Competition team, he assisted clients on competition matters in the financial services, FMCG, agricultural and construction materials sectors. As a result, he developed expertise on pricing and information exchange matters, merger control matters, as well as matters related to pricing, dominance, distribution, professional associations and competition audits. Radu advises on competition matters companies such as Procter & Gamble, Ameropa Grains, Holcim and Profi.

Radu graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Bucharest in 2013 and successfully entered the Bucharest Bar as stagiaire the same year. He previously worked with BirișGoran for three years in a row as both summer intern and paralegal.

Outside the office, Radu enjoys reading and is passionate about video games, especially historically themed strategy games.

Real Estate:

• Handling of permitting and regulatory aspects, as a member of due diligence team performing in-depth due diligence on envisaged investment in mining operations;
• Assisted both tenants and land lords with negotiating and closing office space lease agreements, as well as with subsequent issues during the lease term;
• Member of due diligence teams performing in-depth due diligence on several real estate transactions;
• General support to corporate, real estate and antitrust departments, including drafting of various corporate documentation, legal research, and relations with governmental authorities.

Competition:

• Member of the team which assisted UniCredit Leasing Corporation IFN SA and Unicredit Leasing Fleet Management SRL during Competition Council investigations regarding information exchanges on financial and operational leasing markets;
• Assisted clients with implementing internal competition law compliance programmes, as well as with drafting and implementing internal compliance procedures;
• Member of the team which performed extensive antitrust compliance reviews for well-established corporate clients, including a major construction company and a leading grain trader;
• General support to corporate, real estate and antitrust departments, including drafting of various corporate documentation, legal research, and relations with governmental authorities.
